Performance

Sydney holds a BA in Acting from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, where their training included intensive movement work for actors. This foundation continues to inform her approach to physical storytelling, body awareness, and safe, expressive movement practice. Her practice is rooted in a multidisciplinary performance background spanning theatre, television, dance, and audio work. She has performed professionally with the American Ballet Theatre in Le Corsaire at the Metropolitan Opera House, appeared in a featured background role in Killing Eve, and contributed voice performances to productions within the Doctor Who audio universe. Her performance career has also included experimental classical productions incorporating puppetry. Through these varied creative environments she developed a strong understanding of rehearsal processes and collaborative performance-making across stage, screen, and audio.

Her movement background includes extensive training in ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, ballroom, hip hop, and musical theatre. Alongside dance, she trained in boxing, self-defence, and intermediate stage combat during drama school.

Policy

Alongside her creative work, Sydney has been involved in advocacy around safeguarding practices within creative and educational institutions. This work has included collaboration with survivors, academics, student networks, press (BBC, ITV News), and celebrated organisations such as The 1752 Group.

In 2023 they were involved in a landmark County Court case concerning the handling of serious allegations at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. The ruling clarified that institutions owe a duty of care when investigating such reports. This experience deepened a lifelong commitment to supporting creative, safe environments for others. Striving for trauma-informed practice, transparent processes, and environments where individuals feel safe to communicate boundaries and freely collaborate.
